Sequoia National Park

Last year, we hiked the lakes trail, but didn’t make it past the first one, Heather Lake. For this years gallery>> I was determined to see them all Emerald, Aster, and the otherworldly Pear Lake. Getting there came at a cost, as illustrated by the photo above, where my hiking companions Ted and Erica trod towards a valley in shadow. By the time we made it out, it was pitch black. You are seeing these pics because they hung in there! Big up!

brings it all back. The color in those photos just soothes. Also remembering that visiting the Sequoias allowed us to briefly escape the massive “Station Fire” burning up the Angeles forest at the time.
