Sequoia National Park

Last year, we hiked the lakes trail, but didn’t make it past the first one, Heather Lake. For this years gallery>> I was determined to see them all Emerald, Aster, and the otherworldly Pear Lake. Getting there came at a cost, as illustrated by the photo above, where my hiking companions Ted and Erica trod towards a valley in shadow. By the time we made it out, it was pitch black.
